Maxine McKellar was born in small town Saskatchewan. As a child, she enjoyed art and crafts with a fondness for drawing. After graduating high school, she went on to have a long, satisfying career in the military. It was during this time she discovered her love of creating works that brought her and her friends and family a lot of joy. These included tole painting, sewing, arts and crafts and interior decorating. Upon retirement, she was introduced to a very talented group of artist here in Chestermere. The Chestermere Fine Art Guild has number of amazing artists as well as beginners that love to get together for the joy of painting.
Maxine started out with acrylics and mixed media and is now loving watercolours! She also enjoys being an amateur photographer specializing in underwater sea life that she photographs while snorkeling; and pictures she takes of her parents’ farm as she roams around reminiscing on her childhood adventures; (and of course her four grand kids).
Most importantly though she says she is having an absolutely amazing time with her fellow Art Guild members who are very generous with their time and insight in their mentoring of this amateur artist!
